In Mrs. Wilson’s class you have a writing project due on Tuesday. Complete all of the work in your Writing Project Packet. Your final copy should be on the paper provided by Mrs. Wilson. Don’t forget to decorate your project in either Alabama or Auburn colors!

We will take a look back at history through our reading. We will travel back in time to the Lost Colony. Do you know what we will read about? Here is a clue: Croatoan. At the end of the week, I will introduce a new writing project that accompanies our reading.

You will receive a new Learning Log on Monday. It is important that you keep these in your reading folders and bring them to class every day. You will turn these in on Wednesday, October 29th for a homework grade.

All year long we will use clues to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words. One clue we can use is the prefix of the word. A prefix is a letter or group of letters attached to the beginning of a word that partly indicates its meaning. Common prefixes include anti-(against), co- (with), mis-(wrong, bad), and trans-(across).
